Phoenix Natural Gas Ltd owns and operates a gas distribution network in the Greater Belfast area in Northern Ireland. Parties other than Phoenix’s gas supply business have the ability to have their own gas supplies transported through this distribution system to consumers.
To ensure transparency and fairness for all Shippers on its system Phoenix publishes a Network Code which details the rights and obligations of both Phoenix as the operator of the system and each gas supplier transporting gas using the Phoenix Network.
The management of the Network Code processes is the responsibility of the Transportation Services Department within Phoenix who provide 24 hours per day cover for pipeline activities. Any party wishing to supply gas to consumers in Greater Belfast must accede to the Phoenix Distribution Network Code.
