Growing Green: Investing in Green Spaces

The environment extends beyond ensuring the highest standards of environmental practices in our core business operations into making a positive impact for the consumers and communities we serve. We value our long-term partnerships with organisations who are actively reduce carbon and promote biodiversity.

Through a strategic partnership with The Conservation Volunteers, we have made a commitment to enhancing community green spaces with the planting of 8,000 new trees per annum.  As well as creating new green spaces for communities to enjoy, the partnership will also help increase tree coverage locally supporting carbon absorption and providing safe habitats for a range of insects and species.

We are also keen to help connect with community spaces that are in need of enhanced green space and that could benefit from some tree planting support, no matter how big or small. If you know a community group, school, charity, or project that could make use of new trees, please contact marketing@phoenixnaturalgas.com.

Through our partners, Farming Carbon, we been delivering Carbon Action Seminars to local high schools which are designed to alleviate climate anxiety. With recent research showing that 59% of young people are ‘extremely worried’ about climate change**, the interactive workshop has been designed to help young people see the actions being taken now to help address climate concerns while empowering them to understand how they can take action to have their voice heard. If you know a high school in the Greater Belfast/ East Down areas who would like to receive a talk for their Eco Council, Geography or Careers students, please contact marketing@phoenixnaturalgas.com.
