Downpatrick Goes to the Movies with Phoenix

Night At The Museum 1

Down Community Arts, in association with Phoenix Energy, is getting ready for action as they take Downpatrick to the movies with an exclusive interactive screening of family favourite, Night at the Museum, within the grounds of Down County Museum.

This exclusive screening is proudly supported by Phoenix Energy and movie goers will be treated to a red-carpet experience within the courtyard of the Museum. The event is part this year’s Down Time Festival, organised by Down Community Arts, and will bring the cinema experience to life with interactive character performances throughout the night.

Philip Campbell from Down Community Arts said, “For the past 25 years, Down Community Arts has been working in the Down area, offering a high quality participative arts service to people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. The DownTime Festival is a unique arts festival offering local people the chance to immerse themselves in arts, sport, culture and racing and this year our varied programme is sure to have something for everyone.

“A key highlight of the Festival is our ‘Night at the Museum’ screening set within the grounds of historic Down County Museum. Thanks to Phoenix Energy as sponsors of the event, we’ll have a real VIP experience for guests coming to the screening and the night promises to be an immersive cinema experience, with characters coming to life and interacting with the audience, just like in the movie. This is sure to be a sell-out so make sure you snap up your free tickets quickly by contacting the Down Arts Centre Box Office.”

Danielle Dunbar, Marketing Manager at Phoenix Energy said, “Phoenix Energy has been a long standing supporter of the arts in Northern Ireland and we are delighted to partner with Down Community Arts on this fantastic project to promote the arts in the local area.

“This event is set to bring the magic of cinema to life for all movie goers and Phoenix Energy is very proud to support the show and the DownTime festival. Phoenix will be there on the night to provide the red carpet treatment and I would encourage everyone to book your seats now for the ultimate cinematic experience.”

‘Night at the Museum’ takes place at Down County Museum on Thursday 14th June from 6.45pm – 9.30pm. This is a free ticketed event and tickets are available from Down Arts Centre Box Office 4461 0747. As this an outdoor event, movie goers are advised to wear appropriate clothing for the evening.
